From a report from Russia, Charles Gant solicits prayers for Elena Nikolievna who recently had a mild stroke May 23 that caused temporary paralysis of her left leg. Fortunately, it has gradually cleared up, allowing her to walk again. But she can still use our prayers, and especial- ly for her salvation. Though reading the Bible now, Elena has been greatly influenced by her atheistic upbringing and, thus far, sees no need for obeying the gospel, as her son Nikolai has done. Gant writes, ``The presidential elections are scheduled for 16 June. The Christians here are asking for all their brothers and sisters to pray about this critical time in this country. There are all kinds of reports and rumors about the Communists deploying military units in strategic loca- tions--just in case they lose the elections. (It appears that Yeltsin's support is stabilizing and his lead over Zygonov is steadily increasing.)
