Heaven 

Intro: It is easy for us to lose sight of our direction in 
life, we can be sidetracked into unimportant pursuits 
- Heb 13:13,14

I) Promise of God 
A) God's promises are sure - Heb 6:17,18 -
which gives us strong encouragement and hope 
B) Heaven is promised for the humble, pure, and persecuted 
- Mt 5:3,8,10,12; 1 Pet 1:4 - surprising that some 
"Christians" do not believe 
C) When this life is over - 2 Cor 5:1-5 - Paul looked forward to it
- Phil 1:21-23 - and was not sidetracked to the unimportant
pursuits of this life

II) Heaven is a 
A) Rest - Heb 4:9,10 - do not rest until you are
finished - Gen 2:2 
B) Home of God - Jn 14:1-3 - ours also - Phil 3:20 
C) Lacking human relationships - Lk 20:34-38 - our
relationship will be with God, which eliminates need for all
others 
D) Devoid of effects of sin - Rom 8:18-25; Rev 7:9-17
III) How do we get there? 
A) Jesus will come get us - 1 Thess 4:13-18 - separating the 
righteous and evil - Mt 25:34,46; Jn 5:28,29 
B) Must continue in faith - Rom 11:19-22 - growth - 2 Pet
1:10,11 - and avoiding evil - 2 Pet 3:13,14

Concl: Heaven is all and more than we look for, it is worth the
sacrifice that God asks of us - Mt 16:2426 - it is horrible to
think most will fall short - Mt 7:13,14 - even some disciples -
Heb 4:1,11 - don't let yourself fall short
